Welcome to 1GE

Hi Everyone!

We hope that you've all enjoyed your week off in the sunshine. Has anyone tried anything new or explored anywhere you've not been to before? We'd love to see a photo of what you have been up to.

On the downloads below, we have added work for English, Phonics and Maths and also a weekly plan saved as 02.06.20.  All the worksheets/activities for the week are saved on one document - each as a subject.

The Summer 2 Topic Menu (see downloads below) is ongoing, so you might like to pick some tasks from here to try. Alternatively, if you find that your child has a particular interest in a topic create he/she could create their own artwork, booklet, etc on this instead. There is no need for you to print any work off. This can be completed in an exercise book (school can provide you with one if you ask at the office).

Hopefully, your child should be able to do most of it by him/herself (with a little help at times from a grown-up or maybe older brother/sister).

Please let us know how you are getting on with the work, but most importantly, we want to know that your children are happy, safe and having lots of fun.

Thinking of you all,

Miss Grossmith and Miss Egginton

Homework

Please ensure that you read regularly (5 times a week where possible) with your child at home as well as practising the common exception word.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ksblMiliA8 This is a short video to help you support your child with how to say their letter sounds which will help them with their reading.

Practise recall of pairs of numbers that make 5 (e.g. 4 + 1) and addition and subtraction facts for all numbers to 5.

Please practise the spellings that we send home to learn each week. It is very important that your child begins to spell more accurately as well as phonetically.

Please don't just do the homework, keep practising by looking at the information shared on the parents board.

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will be collected on Thursday the following week.
