Welcome to 6RI!

We have lots of wonderful learning opportunities planned for the Spring term. Please use our website to keep up-to-date with events happening throughout the year, find useful documentation linked to our curriculum (see file downloads at the end of this page) and much more. You can also find out more about what we have been up to by visiting our school Facebook page.

Our theme for the Spring Term is:

‘Crime and Punishment’

Medieval Crime & Punishment: Dark Tales -

Our lessons will be cross-curricular which means that units of history, Science and some English lessons will be linked together where possible to create a more broad experience. Planned activities include: learning about the human circulatory system in Science; the changes that have taken place in crime and punishment in History; and developing our understanding of how to keep safe in PSHCE.  We are incredibly lucky to have ‘Millie’s Trust’ visiting us this term to deliver first aid training to the children.

In English we will be focus on reading and writing narratives, using ‘Pig-Heart Boy’ by Malorie Blackman and ‘War Horse’ by Michael Morpurgo.  In maths, we will be consolidating and extending our understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages.

English is taught every day and maths is taught 4 days a week, with all the remaining subjects taking place throughout the week to ensure your child experiences a broad and balanced curriculum.

Homework

Please ensure that your child reads at least 5x per week and completes any set homework on a weekly basis.  There is a list of recommended reads available to download in the ‘Files to Download’ section below.
