Child Safety

This morning a child was almost knocked down whilst running through the car park!  We have reminded parents on a number of occasions in the past that children should use pedestrian access gates when arriving or leaving school.

I personally have been concerned recently about the number of children travelling through the staff car park when I arrive or leave school and have had to speak to children on a couple of occasions.

It is only 18 months ago that a child was knocked down and seriously injured in the staff car park at another local primary school.  Please, please help us to ensure that this does not happen at Marlborough, by making sure that you and your children do not use the car park as a walk through area.

If you have to use the school car park due to using a disabled space, or dropping off/picking up from KOOS early or late in the day, please could you ensure that you escort your children safely through the car park to limit the risk to them.  However, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the car park is for Staff use only (unless you need a disabled parking space).

Let’s all work together to keep our children safe!
