About Our School
The original school, built in 1967, provides six classrooms and an activity room for our youngest children. With the development of the housing estates in West Tytherington, the school was extended with the addition of an eight-class wing which was completed in 1994.
The building provides fourteen classrooms and associated areas with a capacity for about 420 pupils. Several improvements have been made to the school, with the introduction of doors to our previously open plan classrooms in the Junior wing and modernisation of other classrooms, toilet areas and kitchen facilities. We have also re-developed the playground and introduced equipment in the Infant playground and on the school field. We have four additional classrooms that house our of school club, ‘Marlborough Out Of School club’, a Special Educational Needs Resource Base and an English as an Additional Language Resource Base. There are two halls, a school field, a foundation year play area, two separate playgrounds, one for each Key Stage, a kitchen and offices.
The school serves all of Tytherington, although requests for places from the adjoining areas of Macclesfield, Hurdsfield and Bollington are frequently made.
