Admissions to Marlborough Primary School

We welcome applications during the autumn term for pupils who wish to start in our Foundation Stage classes the following September.  We also welcome applications mid year for pupils wishing to transfer schools, subject to the availability of places.  Parents are encouraged to come and look round the school either by appointment or on our annual Open Day prior to making an application.

We are able to accommodate up to 60 pupils per year group.  Please see the  Trust’s Admission Policy  and LA Applying for school places guidance for more information.

The application process is as follows:

  1. Completed application forms are forwarded to schools
  2. School process the applications
  3. School notify parents and the Local Authority of decisions on applications
  4. Admission authorities (school) administer appeal applications for unsuccessful applicant

If you require any further information, please contact the school office on 01625 466414.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about our school, please get in touch either via email or telephone and we will be more than happy to arrange a 1:1 meeting, video or phone call with Mrs Pollard.

Details on Priority Applications

DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN APPLICATIONS WHERE DISTANCE CRITERIA DOES NOT IDENTIFY PRIORITY FOR ADMISSION
Where there is a limited number of places available, and the school cannot differentiate between the applications using the distance criterion, a random allocation tie breaker will be applied to determine the final place. Someone independent of the school will supervise this process.

CHILDREN OF MULTIPLE BIRTHS

Exceptionally it may be necessary to offer places over the published admission number limit to children of multiple births, to ensure as far as possible that siblings (i.e. twins, triplets or children from other multiple births) can attend the school together.

**ATTENDANCE AT A NURSERY SCHOOL OR CO-LOCATED PLAYGROUP**

Attendance at a nursery School or co-located playgroup does not guarantee admission to the school. Parents will still need to apply for a place at Marlborough Primary School and all applications will be considered in accordance with the school’s admission criteria.
