Scence fun in 3P

Lesson: Science

Class: Class 3P Year: 2017 - 2018

This week the children have been learning all about the digestive system.  We went on a digital journey that our food takes from the moment we put it in our mouth, down our oesophagus, into our stomach, through our small intestine and then into our colon (large intestine) until finally it come out of our anus.

If you want to experience the journey for yourself or your child wants to see it again please follow the link below.

We then recreated the digestive system ourselves and took some crackers on the food journey.

Nathan put the crackers in the mouth and crushed them like the teeth would.

Megan added saliva (water) to help break the food down.

The crackers then travelled down the oesophagus to the stomach. There it was mixed with stomach acid (coke).

The cracker then travelled into the small intestine

(a pair of tights!)

Hannah then helped it to travel through the colon (small intestine)

George bravely volunteered to help it through the anus (poo)

The children had great fun and learned a great deal about our digestive system.  Well done 3P.
